If you are here, I am 100 percent sure you have finally made the decision to get a skincare routine!
Trust me, a skincare routine is challenging but what is more challenging is what skincare products to buy!
I still remember when I walked into the supermarket to buy skincare products. I was headed straight to the beauty and skincare section!
I knew what I had to buy!
But then I suddenly found myself surrounded by 3 salesgirls, each of them pitching their own company products!
I do not mind those girls surrounding me but what I felt bad about was they did not have any solid grounds to suggest a product!
They did not ask what my skin type was, and even if I was allergic to something! (I am allergic to vitamin serums with lemon)!
But they really did not bother!
You might wonder, hey, I do not want to hear your sob story.
But hey, you should know the skincare products I am suggesting you here are based on research and ensure that you do not face any skincare reaction and issue!
So enough of my story, let’s tell you 6 Essential Skincare Products to Buy!
I have made sure that this guide serves every skin type, and if any of the product is not for a specific skin type, I have mentioned it too!
You might wonder, a facial steamer in a skincare routine? Well, I would say, why not? Look, our pores are locked because of all the dirt. Even if you are a stay at home mum, you are still running around kids and cooking and everything. A portable facial steamer will ensure that your pores are open before the skincare routine. It will help to clean skin pores deeper. This makes sure that moisturizer, toner, mask, whatever you use is absorbed perfectly in your skin. It is the best way to wake up with flawless skin that is not clear from its looks but from a health perspective.
You might wonder, hey, I am not ready for such an investment! Well, Sales are on till January! You have plenty of time to get it as a gift from someone, or why not buy yourself on DISCOUNT!
A portable facial steamer works well for every skin type but first check if you have sensitive skin. You can opt for temperature adjustable facial steamer, which will give you the right temperature for your skin.
According to research by a team of Chinese researchers Teoh et al. (2012), facial steamers work best for acne! Yay! [I love reading research btw so yeah, everything I write is not from Google search but from research carried by scientists]
For cleaning every spot and even the tiniest dirt absorbed in your skin, a cleanser is a must-have skincare product in your skincare routine.
But hey, we have all have been there! Gel, foam, oil, cream, clay, and other many types of cleanser.
Which is best for me?
If you have oily and combination skin, close your eyes and pick up gel, foam, bar, cleansers. You can also opt for cleansing mitts, cloths, and sponges! Just make sure you don’t rub it too hard on your face.
Micellar and oil cleansers are perfect for dry and sensitive skin. I have dry skin in winters, so sometimes I do opt for oil cleansers!
Powder cleansers work well when you have oily and sensitive skin. On hot sunny days, I suffer from this issue a lot. So yeah, I have to make sure I get the right product!
The “confused” nature of my skin is what irritated me that day in the superstore!
The next important product is a toner!
You will laugh at me when I say I never understood the use of a toner! But when I used it regularly, people literally asked me, you have done something different.
To be honest, my skin has so many issues every now and then, I use plain old rose water as a toner. I keep it in the fridge and spray it on my face, every other time I felt like the need it.
The best thing is it not only tone my skin, but it also makes me feel refreshed!
Okay, now this might be a bit technical, so I am going to list it directly:
Acne-Prone Skin-Salicylic acid-based toner works the best. It helps exfoliate and remove dirt at the same time. Also, it makes sure the collagen product and cell turnover increases.
Dry & Combination Skin- Toners with lactic acid are perfect for this skin type. It hydrates the skin, which is a major issue for dry and combination skin.
Dry Skin- Glycerin and essential oils-based toners are suitable for dry skin. The biggest nightmare for dry skin is using an alcohol-based toner. If you have dry skin and you are using alcohol-based toner, please don’t!
Oily Skin- Bentonite clay and witch hazel are friends of oily skin. If you have oily skin, opt for these toners.
Sensitive Skin- For sensitive skin, algae or amino acid-based toners are a skin saver! It will both detoxify and remove any impurities from your skin.
Moisturizers keep your skin hydrated and glowing! Especially in winters when every skin is facing dry skin issues.
Dry Skin- Dry skin relatively need more hydration as compared to other skin types. For dry skin, look for moisturizers with hydrating ingredients, like shea butter, hyaluronate, ceramides, and lanolin.
Oily Skin- People with oily skin, I feel for you! No matter what we do, there is something that will cause our skin to be oily. For your moisturizer, for one, with hyaluronic acid in a lotion, serum, or gel formula to make sure hydration is locked but greased is swiped like your home’s phone screen.
To get rid of those stubborn dark circles, please first take adequate sleep. But before that, apply a night eye treatment cream. This will make sure your dark circles are treated, and moisture is locked. Also, make sure to use a pea-size amount of it. Do not rub it! Just dab it gently on your eyes with your ring finger. Do not use other fingers because they have high pressure as compared to the ring finger.
Although these are different products, you should have at least one of them in your skincare routine. They make sure your products are correctly absorbed in your skin. They help to tone, firming, and sculpting skin to boost circulation, enhance glow, reduce puffiness, minimize fine lines, improve elasticity, detoxify, and help skincare products penetrate better. Although the products enable to serve the same purpose, the derma roller is a bit advanced tool.
If you’ve made it till hearing, cheers! I believe you might have no questions about which skincare products you must have! If you have any questions, feel free to connect me at: https://livingshe.com/
