When I first heard about a derma roller, I was like, how can someone insert needles into their face? Like how? But when I researched the product and finally bought it for myself, the results I have seen and the overall phenomena made me understand how derma roller works. Also, how micro-needling produces collagen that helps in skin repair.
This is how you need to use a derma roller for flawless and younger-looking skin.
The first thing you need to do is disinfect your derma roller. It is better to disinfect it before and after use with 70 percent isopropyl alcohol. Just socking the derma roller for 15 minutes is more than enough to get started.
If you have your makeup on, please cleanse your face with any cream-based or oil-based cleanser. You can also use makeup wipes, but it is better to deeply clean your skin. Once you have cleansed your skin, wash your face with your regular face wash. Dry your face after washing the face, and you are good to go.
I won’t give you positive affirmations that, hey, it’s not much painful. It won’t hurt much. But it is painful, especially in the beginning. However, after a couple of uses, you will get used to the pain. In fact, you will enjoy it. It gives a relaxing feel. You can actually feel the difference. Since the needles are greater than equal to 0.1 mm, it is better to have numbing cream. The microneedle on the derma roller draws blood by pinpointing the various locations.
Apply the numbing cream as per the instructions on the pack. It is better to use Asperceme with Lidocaine as it is one of the top-rated numbing creams on Amazon.
You cannot just start using a derma roller on your face. There is a special technique to do so. You have to be very careful while doing so.
First, start with your forehead. Use derma roller in an upward direction on your forehead. Depending on your skin’s sensitivity, you can use it a maximum of 6 to 8 times.
Once you have used the derma roller in an upward direction. In the same position, use the derma roller perpendicular to the previous direction, in this case, upward direction.
Repeat the same process on the other parts of your face.
By the end of the whole process, you must have rolled each part of your face at least 6 to 8 times.
Don’t be afraid if you see track-like marks on your face at the end of your derma roller session.
Note: Do not use the derma roller in a diagonal direction. It can cause your skin to get pressurized in the middle leading to uneven skin. If you are doing so, please be mindful of it.
Wash your face again. You don’t need to apply anything else right now.
Make a soapy mixture of water and dishwasher soap. Let the derma roller soak in the water for around 10 minutes, and then clean the derma roller by moving it back and forth. Don’t hit the side as it can damage the derma roller. This step is necessary because alcohol does not dissolve skin proteins.
Once again, disinfect your derma roller. Keep it in 15 minutes the 70 percent isopropyl alcohol. You can let it be in the disinfectant while you can carry on to the next step.
Do not use any exfoliate or any product that has active ingredients causing the skin to burn. Use light serums and moisturizers.
Dermaroller is your way out to healthy and beautiful-looking skin. You can use a derma roller every other day to a maximum gap of 6 weeks, depending on the length of the needle. If you want to know which derma roller is best, here is another guide for you.
