Oil Serums

The biggest mistake I made was to store all my skincare products in my skincare fridge. However, it causes the oil serum to break out and eventually led to the worst skin breakout for me. Oil serums and facial oils tend to solidify and change in color when kept in the fridge. They might feel good on the skin, but they won't bring the same results.

Oil-based moisturizers

If you use oil-based moisturizers, then don't keep them in the makeup fridge, as their only requirement is to be kept in a dark and dry place. You can simply keep it on your nightstand and use it as needed. Keeping them in the fridge can cause the oil particles to solidify and leading to a greasy effect on the face.

Lip Glosses/ liquid Lipsticks

As much as people say that you can keep lipsticks and glosses in the fridge, I would say it is a terrible decision to make! Why? Well, I kept it not once, not twice, but more than 5 times, and all the time, it made my liquid lipsticks thicken inconsistency. Keeping liquid lipsticks or even the normal lipstick in the refrigerator causes them to harden, making them hard to apply. In fact, keeping them out of the fridge once you refrigerate them does not produce the same result. Perfume

According to Fragrantica, perfumes should be stored at 18 to 20 degrees Celsius. Storing perfumes in extreme heat and cold can cause their elements to disbalance. This disbalance can lead to allergic reactions in few cases. However, you can store your cologne in the fridge but storing perfumes is a big no.

Nail Polishes

I know, I know, you might have read that you can store nail polishes in the skincare fridge, but did they tell you that I cause the viscosity of the nail polish to disbalance? Yes, your nail polish thickens and takes a couple of minutes for it to come at room temperature. In some cases, the formula of the nail polish can cause it to dry as well. Therefore, storing nail polishes in the skincare fridge is a big no!

Blush and Eye shadows

Keeping blush and eye shadows can increase their shelf life. However, David C. Steinberg, in his book Preservative for Cosmetics, says that makeup products are not really tested to be kept in a fridge or extremely cold conditions for a prolonged period. Therefore, if you keep your blush or eye shadows in the fridge, you are doing it at your own risk. Moreover, keeping blush and eye shadows inside the fridge can cause them to lose pigmentation, and hence, they become difficult to apply.

Clay Masks

Clay masks tend to solidify in the refrigerator. Therefore, you must not keep these clay masks in your makeup fridge. They remain good as new at room temperature. Tbh, skincare products are perfect to fit in anything that does not tend to solidify, even in extremely cold conditions. What are you waiting for?
